# Reporter

You were asked for numbers. Where your requests are, how to fill them in, complete or delegate them, and what happens afterwards.

Someone in your company needs a number, a text or a yes/no from you, and SmartHead sent you a request. You don't have to learn the whole platform: open the request, fill in the data point, click **Complete**. This page is everything a reporter needs.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Saves you time:** every request you have, in every company you report for, is on one page – **Requests** in the header. No more searching your inbox for the email.
{% endhint %}

## Where your work is

After sign-in you land on the **Requests** page. The left side lists your companies and, under each, the framework and year (for example "ESRS 2026"). Open **My requests** to see the data points assigned to you, with a due date and a status badge.

Click a row to open the disclosure. You see the data points you have a request on or viewing access to. Other data points show **You don’t have permission to access this content** with a **See your requests** link – that is normal, not an error.

## Fill in and complete

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open the request

On **Requests** › **My requests**, click the row. The disclosure opens with your data point ready to edit.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Enter the value

Type the number, pick the unit or answer, and watch the header: **Unsaved changes → Saving… → Saved at HH:mm**. There is no Save button. Need to split the value by site or country? Use the row's **"…"** menu › **Split using template** ([Breakdowns](/working-with-your-data/breakdowns.md)).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add evidence or a comment

The paper clip opens **Attachments**, the speech bubble opens **Comments** – both stay with the data point, and every participant gets an email about a new comment.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Click Complete

The toolbar of the data point has **Complete**. SmartHead asks "Have you completed the assignment? Confirming completion will submit the assignment for approval." Confirm, and the request moves to **Submitted**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Not yours? Delegate

Click **Delegate** next to **Complete**, choose the colleague in the **Delegate task** dialog and confirm. The request moves to them, with the comments and attachments. The requester is notified by email.

## What happens after Complete

The person who created the request sees your value and either approves it (status **Validated**) or sends it back with **Reopen and assign** – then it is on your **Requests** page again, usually with a comment saying what to change. Details in [Approvals: the four-eyes check](/team-collaboration/approvals.md).

## Several data points at once

* Tick the checkbox that appears when you hover a data point's title, tick more, and **Delegate** or **Complete** them together from the blue bar.
* You can fill in a disclosure's data points in Excel: the disclosure **"…"** menu › **Export to XLSX**, fill in, **Import from XLSX**. The preview shows what will change before anything is saved.

{% hint style="warning" %}
TO CHECK: confirm that a reporter can import an Excel file for the data points they have a request on, and what the preview shows for rows of other data points (Q31).
{% endhint %}

## Good to know

* You only see the companies and data points someone shared with you. If you expected more, ask the administrator for a request or viewing access.
* **Shared with me** lists data points you may read but not edit; **Participations** lists the requests of others you took part in – delegated, commented or approved.
* Once the administrator sets a disclosure to **Done**, it is locked for everyone, including you.
* ESG pages are desktop-only. On a phone you see "Hold off" – switch to a laptop.
