# Administrator

The reading path for the ESG manager – from profile setup to the finished report, in the order you will actually need it, plus a week-1 checklist.

You own the report. You set up the company, invite the people who hold the numbers, choose the framework, hand out requests and export the result. This page is your reading order – one line says why each step matters, the link shows how.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Saves you time:** you don't have to collect anything by email. Assign every data point as a request, and the **Requests** page tells you who is late while the values land straight in the report.
{% endhint %}

## Your reading path

1. [**Profile settings**](/your-account-company/profile-settings.md) – logo, description, public visibility and the company email domain, which later completes your colleagues' addresses when you invite them.
2. [**Invite and manage users**](/your-account-company/user-management/invite-users.md) – one person at a time or twenty from an Excel file; pick the role that fits ([Roles and permissions](/your-account-company/user-management/roles-explained.md)).
3. [**Choose your framework**](/esg-frameworks/overview.md) – ESRS, Revised ESRS, VSME or the EU Taxonomy; which one fits your size and who asks for your report.
4. [**Double materiality assessment**](/esg-frameworks/esrs/double-materiality.md) (ESRS only) – six steps that decide which disclosures you must report; the result trims your list with the **Only material disclosures** switch.
5. [**The disclosure page**](/working-with-your-data/disclosure-page.md) and [**Everything you can do on a data point**](/working-with-your-data/datapoint.md) – where the numbers go in, how autosave works and what every icon does.
6. [**Assign, delegate and complete requests**](/team-collaboration/assign-requests.md) – hand data points to colleagues, one or a whole disclosure at once; then [approve what comes back](/team-collaboration/approvals.md).
7. [**GHG emissions in SmartHead**](/ghg-emissions-co2-calculator/ghg.md) – emission factors per country and year, sources per row, fleet lists from Excel.
8. [**Export to Excel**](/export-import-reports/excel-export.md) and [**Import from Excel**](/export-import-reports/excel-import.md) – templates for people without an account, imported back with a preview.
9. [**Your ESG report**](/export-import-reports/esg-report.md) – PDF, Word or web page, assembled from everything above.
10. [**The dashboard**](/management-overview/dashboard.md) and [**Track progress across the company**](/management-overview/track-progress.md) – the five-minute weekly routine that keeps the deadline safe.
11. [**ESG settings**](/your-account-company/esg-settings.md) and [**Consolidation**](/consolidation-group-of-companies/consolidation.md) – your own breakdown categories, parallel work on one data point, and group reporting.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Upcoming:** step 11 (ESG settings and consolidation) is in the current SmartHead release candidate and may not be in your workspace yet. Confirm the release date with SmartHead before relying on it.
{% endhint %}

## What only you can do

Reporters, auditors and viewers can't do these – if something must happen, it is you:

* Change a disclosure status (**Ready**, **Not ready**, **Done** – **Done** locks the disclosure).
* Assign, reassign and cancel requests; give viewing access; mark data points as not material.
* Upload attachments and write the private note on a disclosure.
* Import Excel for a whole year or a whole standard.
* Edit the double materiality assessment, the EU Taxonomy and every settings page.
* Publish emissions on Finstat.

## Your week-1 checklist

* [ ] Profile settings filled in, **Profile is publicly visible** decided, company email domain set.
* [ ] Colleagues invited with the right role; at least one second administrator.
* [ ] Framework and reporting year chosen.
* [ ] ESRS: double materiality assessment started; **Only material disclosures** switched on when confirmed.
* [ ] One disclosure opened, one value typed, **Saved at HH:mm** seen.
* [ ] First requests assigned with due dates; the **Requests** page bookmarked.
* [ ] One Excel template exported with **Include data points without a value** and sent to the people without an account.
* [ ] Auditor or board invited as auditor or viewer, or given viewing access to the disclosures they need.
* [ ] Report exported once as PDF to see what the end looks like.
